A Little Bit Goes a Long Way!

Did you know that drizzling a little bit of fish oil into your dog or cat's dinner can solve a few well-known canine/feline problems? Like humans, our dogs and cats also get dry skin.  This causes some unsavory results, such as doggie and kitty dandruff and a dull coat (to start)!

Fish oil has also been proven to assist in a few other important factors:

  • Reduction of shedding;
  • Decreased inflammation of joints;
  • Increase of stamina;
  • Strengthening of the immune system; and
  • Increase in softness and glossiness of coat.
The only downfall of adding this topping to your pet's meal is the odeur de poisson (fishy smell) that might be on his or her breath! A small price to pay for a gleaming coat and happy fur friend!

At Village Pet Food Shoppe we have three different varieties of oil to choose from:

  • Herring Oil;
  • Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil; and
  • Sardine Oil.
Right now, Venus is using the Wild Alaskan Salmon oil - it even has a handy pump on it, so dispensing is neat and tidy!

If you are finding that lately joint discomfort/stiffness in particular seems to be bothering your pet, Village Pet Food Shoppe also carries a variety of herb blends that may be added to your pet's meal.

We carry a local product from Guelph, Ontario - Canine Herbals. Click on the Mobility Herbs to link to the website.
